Jesus Christs Kingdom on Earth

Event 4: Jesus Christs Kingdom on Earth

Characteristics:

-Satan bound for a thousand years in the bottomless pit

-Israel gathered from all over the world

-The nation of Israel is restored and blessing to Gentiles

-Messianic Prophesies fulfilled

-The Saints shall live and reign with Jesus Christ the Messiah for a thousand years

Description:

When the judgments have stopped and evil destroyed, and Israel refined, God can begin his everlasting plan on earth.  The promise to the nation of Israel given in Genesis to Abraham will finally be established during this period.  Genesis and other Old Testament prophets wrote of Israel and Gentile nations living in a time that is characterized by Gods eternal blessings.  More important is the Messianic prophesies of the king of kings reigning and dwelling on earth will be fulfilled, that being Jesus Christ – the Righteous Branch of David. (Jeremiah 23:5-6)

·         His reign will be with justice and righteousness

·         He shall have dominion over all nations

·         He shall dwell with Israel in Jerusalem

·         His reign shall be forever

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. (Jeremiah 23:5-6)

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (Luke 1:32-33)

The kingdom from above will finally be established and its center will be Jerusalem. (Isaiah 2) A restored temple, a new river, a new land, and new city built by the nation of Israel are described in Ezekiel 40 to 48 – centered on Jerusalem.  Ezekiel also proclaims King David will be raised and be a ruler for Jesus.  There are many prophesies referring to Jesus Christ’s reign and dwelling in His everlasting kingdom.   More references are given below.

John, in Revelation 20, adds more detail not seen by the Old Testament prophets.  Satan, the dragon, is bound and cast into the bottomless pit for a thousand years.  He sees a judgment of the souls who survived the great tribulation and did not worship the beast.  These tribulation saints will live and reign with Jesus Christ for a thousand years. Revelation 5:10 notes they will be reigning on earth.  What about the church saints that returned with Jesus? (Event3)  Revelation 19 tells us they will be dressed in fine linen, white and clean, so it is my best scriptural interpretation that they also will be reigning in their glorious and resurrected body.  Overall both will be priests of God and Christ over the nations of the earth.  The fact that a finite time period of a thousand years is seen indicates another event will occur at the end of it (event5).

It’s a wonderful period on earth:

  • Jesus Christ reigning and dwelling on earth
  • Satan (the great deceiver) is bound
  • Peace will abound
  • Wars will stop
  • Gentiles will bring praise to Israel
  • Land of Israel will be revived with flowing water for harvest
  • Human life prolonged

This plan for Israel and the Gentile nations is everlasting, but one more event will occur before His perfect kingdom is established with no end. (Event 5)

Isaiah 60 describes that the Gentile nations will bring gifts into the city and honor the nation of Israel.  However, as seen in verse 12, not all nations and people will serve Israel and they will be dealt with by Jesus.  Zechariah 14 also describes nations that came against Israel will now worship the Lord, and what will happen to those that do not.

And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. (Zechariah 14: 16-17)

This signifies that people born in this period still have a free will, even with Satan bound and the presence of Jesus Christ.  The next event will show the repercussions of this free will.

As can be seen, the word of God from the Old Testament prophesies and the Revelation of Jesus Christ declares this wonderful and glorious event.

Revelation 20: 1-6 - Thousand year period

And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Revelation 5:9-10 Tribulation Saints reign on earth

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Revelation 11:15 – His reign forever

And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Ezekiel 36: 24-33 – Israel gathered

For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.

And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.

Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.

Ezekiel 37: 22-28 - Israel one nation and King David and ruler for Jesus

And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.

Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.

My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

Isaiah 2 – Established the word and law from Jerusalem

Isa 2:2  And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

Isa 2:3  And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Isaiah 60: 11-15 – Gentile Nations and the glory of Israel

Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.

For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

Isaiah 61:6 - Riches of the Gentiles

But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

Micah 4:3-4 – No more wars

And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.

Genesis 17:7-9 – The everlasting covenant to the nation Israel

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.
